Love Can Remain

https://soundcloud.com/lori-ann-stewart/love-can-remain
Families are precious. Families are falling apart around the world. I wrote this song because I believe family is the central unit of society. It is the glue that keeps everything together. One must strive with all their heart to keep this unit alive no matter what. The answer to this quest is first commitment. Staying committed no matter what happens. Deciding now that no matter what difficulty lies ahead that a couple will stay together. Forgiveness is vital in marriage. No one is perfect. People make mistakes. The next important point to remember is that love is a verb. Not something you expect your spouse to just hand you like a noun. Love takes effort. It takes work. If one does not love their spouse then one must first look inside and find out what needs to change instead of expecting the spouse to change. Love grows through service. I cannot stress that enough. I repeat, your love will grow as you serve your spouse and others.

Verse 1
Hearts grown cold as ice
Frozen in time
There's no pulse
Or heartbeat anymore
People so cold
Leaving one another
For something more
Something more

Verse 2
Hearts grown cold as ice
Tearing love apart
Children suffering in the dark
Their dreams are shattered
Nightmares born
You can protect them from this storm

Verse 3
Hearts grown cold as ice
Families torn apart
Society left stumbling in the dark
But there's a way to revive love again
It doesn't have to end

Chorus
With a little forgiveness
Love can go a long long way
And commitment
Can change the night to day
In this big world where nothing stays the same
Your love can remain

Like the sun shines through a storm and washes it away
Love can melt a cold cold heart and bring it back to stay
