Love is something largely misunderstood by many people. Love is not something you just get or something you should expect. Love is a verb more than a feeling. Love grows as we serve. One should not just sit around and expect love to come. Love takes work. Love takes effort. As one gives to others with love, one will feel love. I meet many people in life who are depressed. They believe that going to a counselor and spending tons of money on medicine or therapy is going to fix their problems. Well they may learn something. I do not underestimate that but I do not feel that doing those things is a cure for these people. These people need to step outside of their own lives and start noticing how they can help others. As they do this, they will find the happiness they seek.
